Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are my chances of winning the parking ticket appeal?

Statistics show that 67% of appeals are successful.
Please see our Facts and Figures page for more information.

2. Why should I pay you for your service if I can appeal myself?

We offer knowledge, experience and a systematic approach to the appeal process. We also take away the hassle of following up and taking the appeal to adjudication, if necessary. We offer very good value for money, but it's your choice

3. What is your success rate?

Our current success rate is 80% , that is 4 out of 5 tickets appealed against are cancelled.

4. Is this service available only for London area drivers?

No. Fine Fighters are fighting tickets all over the UK

5. What do you need from me? How easy is this service to use?

When you contact us, we will go through a list of questions that will help us identify the best grounds for the appeal. We will also need you to send a copy of the ticket to us. The local council will only send their reply to you, so as soon as you get any correspondence from them, you should contact us and let us know what they have said. In essence - you keep us informed and we do the rest.

6. How much money do I have to pay you for this service? Are there any additional or hidden fees?

We charge a small administration fee that will cover the entire appeal process. This may include informal representation to a PNC (Penalty Charge Notice - the one you find attached to your wind screen), a formal representation to a NTO (Notice to owner - the letter you get through the mail) and appeal to an adjudicator.

If you do not win your appeal, there will be no other fees to pay. If you do win your appeal, we will charge a success fee.

We will advise you of both the administration fee and the success fee when you contact us.

7. If my appeal is not successful, do I get the administration fee refunded?

No. The administration fee is not refundable.

8. Why should I trust you to fight on my behalf? How legal is your service?

We are not legal practitioners. We just understand the system. We contact each and every potential applicant to discuss their individual case. If we can't convince you that our service is trustworthy and of value, then you are under no obligation to use our service.

9. How long will the appeal process take?

The council has 56 days to reply to the representation. If the council decides to reject the appeal, we will review their reply and decide how to proceed. If we decide to appeal to an adjudicator, it may take a few months before the case is reviewed and a decision is made.

10. How do you track the success/failure of the appeal?

From the perspective of the ticket issuer, YOU are the one appealing the fine/ticket. You will hear directly from the ticket issuer as to the success or failure of the appeal. In due course, we will contact you if we have not heard from you regarding the appeal.

We will send you a copy of everything we have done on your behalf. In some cases, we will have to get you to sign the appeal document and send it in yourself, as that is the only way that some ticket issuers will accept the appeal. In such cases, we will send you the document you need to sign and a pre-paid envelope.

11. What do I need to do to get started and how soon can you provide the service to me?

All you need to do at this stage is fill in the relevant contact form. We will contact you at your convenience and discuss the next stage. Don't leave things to the last minute. If we don't appeal within the specified time frame, your fine will increase.

12. How long have you been doing this?

Fine Fighters started as a "hobby" in 2002. Our Chief Fighter was getting unjustified parking tickets and decided to systematically appeal against each and every one of them. The appeal process was perfected through appealing against dozens of tickets and winning more and more appeals. He then started helping friends and family to appeal against their tickets and Fine Fighters was born.
